Terms of service

This website is operated by Farmgate Honey Australia Pty Ltd, ABN 26 613 791 174 ("Farmgate Honey", "we", "us"), of Peak Crossing, Queensland. These terms apply when you buy from us through this website or by email. By placing an order you agree to them.

How to order

While our online checkout is being set up, you order by email. Use the order button on any product page, or email sales@farmgatehoney.com.au with what you would like and your postcode. We reply to confirm what is in stock, the postage, the total and how to pay. Once online checkout is live, you can order and pay on this website instead.

When your order is accepted

Your order is an offer to buy. For an email order, we accept it when we confirm it by email after you have paid. For an online order, we accept it when we dispatch the goods. We may decline an order or supply a smaller quantity, for example when a batch has sold out, and if we do we refund you in full for anything we do not send.

Pre-orders

Some products are sold before they are ready to post, and the product page says so. When we confirm a pre-order we tell you when we expect to send it. If we cannot supply it, or it will be much later than we said, we tell you and you can have a full refund. You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it is dispatched.

Offers

An offer shown on this website, such as a free item with an order, applies to orders placed while the offer is shown and while stock of the free item lasts. If the free item runs out, we tell you before we confirm your order.

Prices and GST

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where GST applies. Your tax invoice shows which items carry GST. Postage is extra and is shown to you before you pay.

We may change prices at any time, but never on an order you have already placed. If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price because of a technical or human error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than supply it at that price.

Our honey changes with the season

Each batch is extracted and packed on its own. Colour, flavour, thickness and how fast it candies vary between batches and between seasons, because the bees work whatever is flowering. That variation is the product behaving normally, not a fault.

Batch codes and tracing

Every bottle and tin carries a batch code on the lid. Enter it at farmgatehoney.com.au/trace to see the region and the season the honey came from. Our bees move across Queensland and into New South Wales, so a batch traces to a region, not to a single paddock. Where a detail is not confirmed yet, the trace page says so.

Manuka

We state an MGO number for a manuka batch only once we hold that batch's laboratory certificate, and the number we show is the number on the certificate. Until then the batch is shown as lab test pending.

Product information

We describe our products as accurately as we can and we do not make claims we cannot substantiate. Photographs are of our own products, but colour on a screen is not an exact match for the product.

Allergies and safety

Honey is a natural product and may contain traces of pollen, wax and propolis. Do not give honey to infants under 12 months of age. Bee pollen and propolis may cause severe allergic reactions. If you have an allergy to bee products, do not consume our products. Our products are food. They are not therapeutic goods and we make no medicinal or therapeutic claims about them.

Trade, pollination and education

Wholesale and food service supply, pollination services and bee education are quoted and agreed separately. The quote or booking confirmation sets out the terms for each, alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Farm visits and events

Visits to the farm are by arrangement only. Bees sting: on the farm, follow our directions and stay out of the apiary unless we take you in. Tickets to a farm event are sold with the details of that event. If we cancel an event, we refund your ticket in full.

Emails from us

If you sign up for batch alerts, we email you when a new batch is ready. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell your email address.

Reviews

If you send us a review, we may publish it on this website with your first name and suburb. Tell us if you would rather we did not.

Using this website

You may use this site to browse and to buy. You may not use it to interfere with its operation, to scrape it at volume, or for any unlawful purpose. Everything on this site, including text, photographs, drawings, the Farmgate Honey name and our logo, belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied for commercial use without our written permission.

Our liability

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees or any other right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent the law allows, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods, or refunding the price.
